1998
Another great year for Merlot, which expresses itself here with truffle aromas so striking that in a blind tasting one could take the wine for a Pomerol. And yet, this is definitely Cantemerle, with well-incorporated tannins which give a round and smooth character to the wine. Complex aromas offer a somewhat atypically powerful mixture of tobacco, leather and game. With its very long finish, the wine will easily accompany roast meats, venaison, or sauced dishes, but it will require decanting before service.
